Nestled in the heart of a serene forest in Monteverde, this project was about blending tradition with innovation, all while paying homage to the natural beauty surrounding the home.
As you approach the main entrance, you’re greeted by a unique and striking cabinet made from French oak. This isn’t just any ordinary cabinet—its purpose is to elegantly conceal the electrical boxes that might otherwise disrupt the flow of the space. Beyond its practical function, the cabinet is a piece of art in its own right, with niche lighting subtly highlighting its fine craftsmanship. It also doubles as a storage solution, ensuring that beauty and functionality go hand in hand. The entrance door itself is a masterpiece, designed from black steel and glass, exuding a sense of elegance and warmth that invites you inside.
Stepping into the living area, your eyes are immediately drawn to the expansive wooden TV unit that spans the entire wall. This isn’t merely a place to mount a television; it’s a statement piece. The design is a harmonious blend of glossy white paint and light walnut finish, with elegant drawers that offer both style and storage. The recessed TV ensures that technology doesn’t dominate the room, but rather complements the overall aesthetic.
In the bedroom, we took a piece of Lebanese tradition and gave it new life. The old, French charming windows that once graced the home were re-imagined as a bed head for the children’s room, infusing the space with a sense of history and creativity. This touch of nostalgia not only adds character but also connects the past with the present in a meaningful way.
The library, though small, is a playful nod to childhood memories, designed like a game of Tetris. The cabinets appear as if they’re falling into place, creating a dynamic and whimsical storage solution that feels as much like a game as it does a functional piece of furniture.
Finally, in the storage room, we added an element of mystery with a hidden door. Seamlessly integrated into a brushed stainless steel panels, the door is nearly impossible to detect, adding a touch of intrigue to the space. This secret entrance not only serves its practical purpose but also adds a layer of sophistication and clever design to the overall project.
In this apartment, every detail was carefully considered, ensuring that each element not only serves a function but also tells a story, reflecting the harmony between nature, tradition, and modern design.
